Bloglovin Blog Community - Online Marketing Blog

Like the idea of discovering a new blog community? If you’re a fashion fan or a fashion writer needing to research fashion trends, click over to Bloglovin. It’s a great place to subscribe to fashion blogs, style sites, and more.

If you need fashion marketing or fashion writing inspiration, you’ll definitely find it there. Note, there are numerous blogs to discover beyond fashion on Bloglovin. For example, Copy Clique can be subscribed to on Blogluvin under the “Marketing Blogs” category. However, if you want to study fashion writing styles, this is one excellent, self-contained source to do research.

Writing That Builds a Fashion Blog Community

Fashion writing is about spotting trends and spreading style enthusiasm. Fashion bloggers and journalists stimulate buzz about what’s hot in apparel and accessories. It’s a powerful position, one that helps tip the scale and create trends.

When writing a fashion article, fashion blog or fashion merchandise description, incorporate these ideas and concepts. Here’s how to craft compelling content or marketing copy:

  • Understand that fashion is aspirational. Fashion fans are interested in apparel that helps them complete a certain personal statement. These are called fashion archetypes. Archetypes are personae such as the Professional, the Free-spirited Gypsy, the Super Sexy, the Romantic, the Trendy Fashionista, and the Vintage Queen to name a few.
  • Unleash emotions. What would it feel like to wear a particular garment or accessory? Describe the feeling. Set the scene, even. How does it make the wearer feel? How do others perceive the wearer? What’s the effect, the experience. Unleash your imagination on a moment in time. Tell a little story in which the reader can immerse.
  • It’s not all Prada, but the devil’s always in the details. Good fashion writers understand apparel classifications, silhouettes, garment construction, fabric types, and price points along the fashion food chain. They note where hemlines fall; the variety of sleeve or collar on a blouse; the shape of a jacket; the style of a shoe. There are names for all of these details, and readers respect when you know your stuff.

Here’s a sampling of some of the fashion blogs I follow on Bloglovin. Each blogger delivers inspiration and creates aspiration for readers who aspire to achieve a similar style. They’ve carved a niche and built a following by sharing their infectious passion for fashion:

Anya Caliendo, couture millinery atelier (hat designer)

Keiko Lynn, fashion designer photoblogs what she’s wearing every day

Sea of Shoes, Jane Aldridge photoblogs what she’s wearing every day

Blogluvin’s a nice blog community to explore, and a good place to place your own blog for additional Web traffic. Enjoy!
